About the Event
Join COAEYC and presenter Shannon Hall, MSOL, MS Ed. ECE as we explore Doing the Right Thing for Children: Eight Qualities of Leadership by Maurice Sykes. This course is intended to help you develop the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind to be a successful leader and do the right thing for children, whether you serve at the individual, organizational, or classroom level. This class is worth a total of 10 clock hours, with 6 of those hours being contact hours with your Zoom book club cohort. You must attend ALL four sessions to receive a certificate of completion. Certificates will be issued through the PDIS portal. **Your registration fee includes a copy of the book for this training.** Member Price: $20 Nonmember Price: $50 Once registered, you will receive an invoice from COAEYC. Your registration will be approved and you will receive a confirmation and calendar link from Zoom once your payment has been made. Due to the cost of materials, COAEYC will not issue refunds for this course. You may contact Enola (enola@coloradoaeyc.org) to transfer your registration to another participant if you cannot attend.
About the Facilitator: Originally from Colorado, Shannon Hall has worked in the early care and education field since 1997, as both a teacher and a director. She holds Master of Science degrees in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University and Early Childhood Leadership and Advocacy from Erikson Institute. Shannon joined ECCLA in January 2019 after Qualistar Colorado closed its doors. She administers the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Colorado Scholarship Program and the Family Child Care Home Improvement Grant Initiative throughout the state. It is her belief that an early childhood education of the highest quality is essential to child development, and early childhood educators play a critical role in that. In her free time, Shannon enjoys traveling, reading, movies, and spending time with her family.
