Weld District of CAEYC is back in full swing. The Weld District held elections in May for President, Secretary, Training Coordinator and 2 Member-at-Large board members for the 2011-2013 terms. Congratulations to the following:

Training Coordinator: Peggy Johnson
Member at Large: Chris Richards
Member at Large: Lara Wiley
Returning officers for the Weld District are Vice President, Debbie Becker; Treasurer, Julie Skinner; and Member at Large, Kathy Hamblin.
The Executive Committee set 6 goals for the year. They include:
1) Increase member participation in WAEYC activities.
2) Complete the organization brochure.
3) Sponsor a table at the Love to Learn Conference.
4) Develop materials and opportunities to share the importance of ECE and how WAEYC can help.
5) Improve communication to WAEYC members through monthly agendas, meeting minutes, meeting participation and brochures.
6) Develop an Advocacy Forum.
We would like to wish Linda Neigherbauer the best in her new adventures and thank her for her outstanding contributions to the organization over the years. Linda resigned from her position as Member at Large in August of 2011, and is moving out of town.
The Weld District of CAEYC partners with the Child Care Professional Development Committee each year to provide at least 15 clock hours of free trainings for child care homes and centers. This year we have provided Food Friends, Project Wild, Managing Challenging Behaviors, Breaking the Violence Cycle, Helping Children use their Creativity and Mad Science trainings. Our upcoming trainings include:
- January 18, 2012 ~ Time Management
- March 20, 2012 ~ Dinner Conversations
- May 5, 2012 ~ Bafà Bafà
