H.B.1238 Colorado Early Literacy Act
HB12-1238 – The READ Act – was an important moment forColorado’s early literacy movement. This legislation helps ensure early identification of children with significant reading deficiencies as early as kindergarten and in partnership with parents, provides these children with the targeted interventions and supports they need to read proficiently by third grade. This bill was signed by Governor Hickenlooper on May 17, 2012.
